To me, the most intriguing part of this trade is actually not Derrick Rose. It's really Dennis Smith Jr. Here's a guy who was I believe the number nine pick in the draft by the Mavericks gets traded to New York. Gets buried. For whatever reason, I don't know if it's his skill set. I don't know if it's his attitude. I don't know what it is about Dennis Smith Jr but when you think about him still being a young player and headed to Detroit, maybe there's an opportunity for him to revive his career with Derrick Rose. You just hope if you're a Knicks fan, he doesn't take any time away from quickly.
