Kyrie suggested that the NBA should abolish the draft: "Players should go wherever they want. We're not someone's property." Is this a good idea?

he's absolutely right that they're they're not someone's property. But in a capitalist world, the trade there is paying them millions and millions of dollars. And so the league has set up rules in order to have parody, and part of that process is allowing the bad teams to make a draft. And so it's not about suggesting someone is someone else's property because they're getting paid a whole ton of money. Thio do that now. Does he have some merit that it should be a pure, you know, free agency based approach? You know, LeBron James would have signed basically a Max deal. Or maybe there's no salary capital on on Lee. The teams that were able to offer them like that's kind of interesting. There's an element of that. But the problem you'll face with that is, the big markets will only get better and you have no parody. And so if you value parody is a league and you value parody as an owner group as well as a players union group, there's really not a strong solution to have ah, free market path here. So I think you know, Kyrie is, you know, stating an emotion here, but really doesn't have much fact or rationale on how to actually execute something like this
